The 94th Indian Air Force Day celebrations began at the Hindan air base on Thursday with a ceremonial parade and a display of some of the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) key combat and aviation assets.
The event was attended by the three service chiefs, senior military officials and several former IAF chiefs.
IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal A P Singh arrived at the parade venue in a vintage car dating back to the 1960s.
His arrival was accompanied by a flypast of three helicopters in ‘Dhwaj’ formation, adding a ceremonial element to the opening of the celebrations.
The IAF showcased several of its prominent aircraft on the tarmac as part of the static display.
The fighter aircraft on display included:
- Rafale
- Su-30 MKI
- Jaguar
The display also featured helicopters including the LCH Prachand and ALH Dhruv.
Critical weapon and air defence systems were also showcased, providing visitors and officials with an overview of the IAF’s combat capabilities.
The presence of the three service chiefs, senior military officials and former IAF chiefs underlined the importance of the annual Air Force Day celebrations.
The event combines ceremonial traditions with displays of the Indian Air Force’s aircraft, helicopters, weapons and air defence systems.
